Marisol tagged me with a book meme. OK. Who let it slip that I know how to read? Huh? Who did it?
I have to open the book I am currently reading to page 161 and read the 5th sentence, and then tag 5 people...
I'm on my 3rd book since she tagged me but I've already given away the first book so can't go back for it.
Now I'm reading Stuart Woods, "New York Dead". I can't believe it's the first Stone Barrington book because I've read and listened to at least 6 other Stone books without realizing it would have been good to read them in order - which is something I mostly always do.
"He opened a gallon can of varnish, selected a brush, climbed a ladder, and started at the very top, spreading the sealer with long, straight strokes."
That's one long sentence.
Here's the thing. Marisol gave a "before and after" to help put the sentence into context. But I'm only up to page 23 so I have no idea what's going on on page 161. I'm sure you're all on the edge of your seats to see what it's all about but you'll just have to be happy with that one sentence. :-)
And now...on to the TAGGING!
Put on your reading glasses Rachel, Bobbi, Jessica, Emma and Kena.
Last night was going to be another boring Thursday night. Tom goes to bowling and I spend 3 hours flipping channels like I've got ADHD (who say's I don't?), trying to find something to watch while I knit.
3 minutes after Tom left my phone rang and I thought it was Tom 'cause we can't be apart for more than, like, 18 seconds without texting or talking, don't ya know. haha
I was happily surprised that it was a Shannon, just calling to say "hey" and pass the time with me, for a spell. Turns out our "spell" was 2 hours and I had a great time. (I'm Good Enough, I'm Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like Me!) But now she knows some of my deep, dark secrets and must be sworn to secrecy. Shan, don't tell people I watch Janice Dickinson! SHHHHHHH!
Earlier in the evening I had a run in with my refrigerator, while rescuing a piece of Wes's pasta. The end result was a bandage on my left thumb. There wasn't going to be much knitting so I was doubly spared by the call.
Thanks, Shan!
I kind of got back at Wes this morning when I took him to the Vet for a dental check-up. He has to go for another dental visit to have plaque removed. Darn it! I feel bad because Tom and I had a hard time finding a good way to brush Wes's teeth and so it's MY fault that his gums are back in the red...more like pink...at the edges. At least he isn't having any pain chewing so after this procedure I hope we can keep it clear. Poor guy's only going to be 3! For those that really want to know, he's 9.3 lbs. :-)
And now, onto some WIP's! (Yeah, who knew? This is a knitting blog!)
I'm making this for a friend of my brother. Blue Sky Alpaca in dk weight. 3 shades of brown. Can you recognize it as the famous Chevron Scarf? I really wanted to use all 3 colors so did a little playing with the pattern.

Some of it's rolled at the edges. I only cast on 36 stitches so it's narrow but will be long. How long? I have 2 skeins of each color and I'm working until I run out of them. Hopefully it's LOOOOOOONG.
And my 2nd WIP (let's not talk about the vest, puleeze) is the 3rd Koolhaas. I won't say who it's for, right now.

Malabrigo in Solymar.
So there you have it. I'm a multi-tasker. Reading, talking, vetting, knitting. Maybe a little bit of bleeding (the thumb).
And Sunday I'm heading to a knitting meeting of the Ravelry group: NE PA Knitter's.
What are your weekend plans?
